I need to tidy my desk

Damn it, I really need to tidy my desk.

Now if only one of these desks and spaces were mine.

Truth is, as I'm sure I'm not the only one, my office is a bit of a tip right now. Like, I have to hop over about 3 boxes before I can actually get into the place.

My father works for himself.  He's done so for almost 30 years and ever since I can remember he's had his office at the back of the house which he would work away in (until the small hours of the morning sometimes) working hard to pay the bills.

The one thing I always ribbed him for though, was how much of a mess his office was. I used to wonder how clients found their way out of his office when they had meetings with him, it was that bad.

It affected me so much as a child, I vowed never to have clutter or mess in my life. I became minimal, I tidied, I cleaned, I polished. I was THAT tidy, neat person.

But ever since I've had my own business full time, I've seen things creep up on me. First it was a few cups (no bother) then some extra pencil shavings (well I am an illustrator, doh!) and then it was paper, more paper, stacks of paper, piles of stuff,  Dammit, I'm turning into my father!!  Help!

It's easy to happen when you own your own business and you really start turning jobs over - and especially when you have deliveries from suppliers and packaging, as is the nature of any creative business. That's what I call, creative clutter.

So, in an attempt to turn this ship around and do a U-turn from clutter-city, I have pinned some awesome looking workspaces on Pinterest which have provided heaps of motivation and desk'spiration. I just wish that one of them was mine.
